Sports & Recreation
While visitors to Milwaukee love to partake of the outdoor festivals and beer the city is known for, there is plenty of other recreation available for those who seek them out. Professional sports is a favorite pastime of both those who live in Milwaukee as well as those who visit. In addition to the NBA's Bucks and MLB's Brewers, Milwaukee is also home to the Admirals, an American Hockey League hockey team, and the Wave, an indoor soccer team. Men's college basketball is also quite popular, with the Marquette Golden Eagles and the Milwaukee Panthers reaching the post-season for three out of the past four years.
For those who prefer to do than to watch, at least six parks and nature centers are located in Milwaukee, providing ample opportunity for walking, biking, rollerblading, hiking, snowshoeing and kayaking. Fishing and boating on Lake Michigan are also popular ways to spend a day, as is golfing, greyhound racing and auto racing. For those looking for a more relaxing way to spend their time, boat cruises, casinos and bingo parlors are also available.
